Get the most out of your meetings. Choose brain food, not drain food!

Nutrition at work 2015One way to help you get the most out of your next meeting or event is to eat right. Foods can help you stay energized and research shows that eating well at work can boost your concentration and productivity.

Does your workplace promote integrating healthy eating into the work setting? Are there easy-to-follow plans to create and support healthier meetings and events? Here are seven starter suggestions to overcome meeting challenges and help you fuel your day at work the healthy way.

  1. Offer fruit and/or vegetables every time food is served.
  2. Balance carbs and proteins to sustain energy levels.
  3. Limit portion sizes.
  4. Offer options – vegetarian or gluten-free
  5. Stay hydrated – make water your default beverage,
    limit caffeine. Tip: Tea has 66% less caffeine than coffee
    herbal teas have no caffeine.
  6. Snack smart – there is a big difference between a treat & snack. Tip: BYOS – bring your own snacks like grapes, oranges, nuts. Do not place candy or candy bowls in the meeting space.
  7. Energize with a walk at the break
